Exploring strategic and technical challenges for Europe’s gas powered future
The Gas to Power Europe Forum is designed to review the technical, commercial, legislative and environmental challenges inherent in building Europe’s future gas fired power generation capacity .
For some time, Europe has been looking toward natural gas to play a more dominant role in power generation. With increasing EU legislation on carbon-intensive fuel sources such as coal, lignite and oil, natural gas is seen as a positive “low-carbon” choice. It is readily available through existing infrastructure, flexible, adaptable with current technology and it is relatively cheap and safe.
Gastech Specialist Events Gas to Power Europe Forum will be an opportunity for gas and power companies to come together to discuss the technical and commercial developments underlying the development of gas-fired power generation in Europe thus far and to look to the future.
Topics to be discussed include:
- The future of European gas-fired power generation with reference to recent nuclear / shale developments
- Quality of gas – securing reliable sources, assessing the impact of increased suppliers, the role of LNG and potential unconventional resources
- Pricing and contract negotiation for gas feedstocks – short-term / long-term implications and EU legislative influence
- Gas storage and infrastructure – what’s currently in place to feed power plant development?
Highlights
- Continuing the delivery of high-quality information and networking opportunities expected from the Gastech brand
- Central European location in Germany at the heart of current European power issues and with superb access to Western, Central and Eastern gas and electricity regions
